Penelope Shilling's clothing is made almost exclusively from natural fibres:
cottons, linens, silks and wool. Occasionally, some blends are used, such as rayon-spandex for T-shirts.

Classic styling, colours, fabric quality, and attention to detail are the characteristic features of the label.
All Penelope Shilling garments are manufactured in Australia.

The Old School House Gallery Tea Room....

While visiting the Gallery, why not take the time to indulge in a
delicious Devonshire tea, choosing from our large selection of
T2 teas, which are also for sale.

The scones and jams are home-made, and there are savoury
muffins, iced tea, iced coffee, and hot chocolate. All served in
bone china on lace cloths.
History of the Gallery Building....

The Old School House Gallery is housed in the beautifully restored 1863 Common School in Loch Street, one of
Beechworth's many notable historic buildings. Celebrating its 147th anniversary in 2010, the Common School No. 36, also
known as the Beechworth Academy, was the town's first school. The first Australian-born Governor-General, Sir Isaac Isaacs, taught there from 1872 to 1874, and for a hundred years of its history the building housed the office and press of the Ovens & Murray Advertiser.
